The Chinese government must immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and release all Falun Gong adherents. Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) has been suppressed by the Chinese government since July 20, 1999. International organizations such as the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International have repeatedly expressed concern over the Chinese government's treatment of Falun Gong practitioners and have called for the respect of religious freedom and basic human rights.
